Vintage Heart

Welcome back to our second installment of the Gelsemine Correspondence, a fictional imagining of what might have occurred had two demons written letters back and forth to each other to try and lead a teenage girl astray. As always, this is a complete work of fiction that I wrote to try and portray the spiritual warfare we face, and how we respond to it.

"If you do not work diligently to unravel the threads the Enemy has already begun to stitch on her heart, you will find her soul completely locked away from you before you know it."

And coupled with the crippling realization of who Jesus was was the very knowledge that he knew and saw the darkest of sins she’d committed. He hadn’t forgotten her, even when she’d forgotten him. And he bore the name of El Roi, the God who sees.  Ayala’s father had always marveled at that name for Yahweh. That the Lord of Heaven and Earth stepped close to His people and saw them for who they were. 

Ayala, our God is constantly finding his way back to his people. He doesn’t abandon us at the slightest hardship. And neither will his son.” 

The eternal, omnipotent God of Isreal was being held by a poor carpenter. 

"Our God loves to use what is humble and raise it to what is mighty. He blends simplicity and grace in the brightest and best of ways.”
