Hey readers! Today we have a guest post by a good friend of mine. Elizabeth Jade is a poet and soon to be published author who has graciously agreed to do a post swap with me, sharing one of her beautiful poems with you all. Go check out her work on her websites and give her a follow!

Hi everyone! I’m Elizabeth Jade, a poet from the South and a close writing friend of Mira’s. I’ve loved her work for so long, so getting to do a post swap together feels like such a gift.

Now, who am I exactly? I’m a soon‑to‑be‑published poet who writes about the things closest to my heart: life, friendship, and Jesus. My main website, Honesty Never Spoken, is where most of those poems reside. I also run Invisible Ribbons, a small corner of the internet where I write about chronic illness and hope to build a supportive community.

I’d love for you to explore Honesty Never Spoken (and check out Mira’s post while you’re there!) and visit Invisible Ribbons if you feel drawn to it. Hope you enjoy today’s poem!

I Am Weak:

I know I cannot do this on my own,

So why do I still try?

Why do I push myself to do this alone,

When I know I can’t win this fight.

I am weak, this I know.

I am fearful, this I know,

I have trust issues, this I know.

But this I also know,

When I am weak, You are strong,

I can trust You, to help me along,

I can give you all my fears,

A spirit of fearfulness has no place here.

So, I will not be discouraged,

I will not be dismayed,

For my Jesus is with me,

Wherever I go.

For when I am weak, You are strong.
